Kathryn Lasky’s children’s book series comes to the screen with this animated adaptation from director Zack Snyder. The plot details a mythical race of barn owls whose realm is threatened by sinister outside forces. A young owl named Soren is kidnapped by a group of fascistic owls known as the Pure Ones. Incredibly, Soren and a group of fearless young owls manage to stage a daring escape. With the future of the owl kingdoms hanging in the balance, brave Soren and his companions must travel to the ends of the earth in hopes of finding the mythical Great Tree and convincing the Guardians of Ga’Hoole to help defeat the Pure Ones once and for all. Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, and David Wenham head up the voice cast.
